Let's All Hate Bush! - By Justin Darr

January 5, 2004

On December 2nd, 2003, former Deputy Chief of Staff for President Clinton, Harold Ickes, stated at the "Let's All Hate Bush Together Fun Fair" in Beverly Hills, it was not that they disliked George W. Bush, but that his policies were not right for the country. I was shocked as much as you. I thought the Liberals loathed Bush because he has a Texan accent and prevented Al Gore from stealing the Presidency in Florida. I was also surprised how much Ickes' memory has improved since his years in the White House when he and the rest of the "Friends of Bill" stated over 6000 times that they "could not recall" specific events while under oath. How did he even find his car keys to drive to the event?

Now, America, all of our opinions about George Bush must change! A group of Hollywood Liberals with no connection to the real world has determined that Bush is WRONG (and since we see them on TV they MUST be correct). Beware any of you who might disagree with them, or you too could be branded "STOOPID" (sic) like the President. Liberals are, as you know, far more intelligent than any Conservative (largely because they say so).

As President Bush is an utter, laughable, failure, let us now review his list of "shortcomings" and their CAUSES.

First, Bush came to Washington saying he wanted to unite lawmakers and the Presidency. As the Democrats point out, Washington is still fractious and divided. Why? Because there has been a non-stop torrent of vitriol from the mouths of Democratic Party leaders not seen since "The Exorcist". The Democrats have assailed Bush from the very beginning of his term as though he actually was the "illegitimate" President they claim him to be. It does not trouble them that the matter was resolved by the Supreme Court. Whether they like it or not, Bush won (even before Al Gore made a mockery out of our elective and judicial processes.): PERIOD.AMEN! EXCLAMATION POINT! For a Party that relies so heavily on judicial activism to further their political agenda, I am alarmed by their attitude toward the Court. It is as though they are attacking the credibility of the President and the Court itself. It is ironic that one of Bill Clinton's chief activist lobbies, "Move On", which urged the public to quickly forget the Clinton Impeachment now will not MOVE ON, carrying the "Bush is an Illegitimate President and Jerk" torch ad infinitum (can you say oxymoron?).

Second, the President has launched a War on Terror that has us invading Iraq without UN approval and no "exit strategy". Forget the fact that Clinton attacked Serbia without even GOING to the UN, and his "exit strategy" still has us sitting there. Also, forget the fact that in 1998 the Democrats in Congress completely supported a Clinton resolution stating it was the policy of the United States Government "to remove Saddam Hussein from power". (Obviously, the only reason Democrats do not support Bush now is because Bush actually DID SOMETHING about the problem rather than just discussing it over lattes with the French).

Third, the economy is still in recession. OH WAIT!!! The recovery is a "jobless recovery". OH WAIT!!!

Fourth, Democrats criticize Bush for failing to pass all of his policy initiatives:

"So, Senator Daschle, why has Bush not passed his Energy Bill?" (Me).

"Because we filibustered it." (Daschle)

"Why hasn't Bush been able to see of his proposed tax cuts come into law?"

"Because we filibustered it."

"Why, then did the President's Medical Prescription Plan pass?"

"Well, since it was not our idea we TRIED to filibuster it, but a few WEAK KNEED Democratic Senators actually want to be reelected."

"Why has Bush failed to fill Judicial vacancies, creating a litigation crisis?

"Because we filibustered ALL OF THEM!!! ALL OF THEM I TELL YOU, HA! HA! HA!"

For the Democrats to attack Bush for failing in the policy arena is the same as a drunk driver hitting your parked car and then blaming it on you. "Well, you should of known I was a drunken idiot and parked somewhere else." Liberals have one agenda since Bush has taken office: OBSTRUCT HIM, EVEN IF IT MAKES YOU SOUND RIDICULOUS. Watching the Democratic Primary Candidates, I see that they have taken this advise to heart!

I do not know about you, but I tossed Clinton into the "philandering moron that I have to live with" category about two seconds after I saw Trent Lott and Tom Daschle smiling and presenting William Rehnquist with a commemorative plaque after the Removal from Office Motion in the Senate failed. I did not like decision, but the system worked even under extreme circumstances, so I accepted it, as did the Republicans. That is what American Democracy is about, compassionate majorities and loyal oppositions.

However, the Democrats are OBSESSED with Bush. Liberals are by their very nature self centered and arrogant. They cannot conceive the thought that they MIGHT be wrong. When something happens Liberals do not like, it is because something UNFAIR has occurred, not that the burden of proof might be against them. The ONLY way to garner their support is to turn off your mind AND DO EXACTLY AS THEY SAY. I am proud to say that President George W. Bush refuses to allow this to happen.

The REAL reason the Liberals hate Bush is because after the 2000 Election he came to Washington as the President of the United States. Very early on, Democratic Congressional leaders were saying that the closeness of the Election dictated that Bush abandon his beliefs in favor of theirs. NO, IT DID NOT. Bush has proven himself a strong, confidant leader of our nation in troubled times. He refuses to compromise his beliefs and ethics (a foreign concept in to the Clintonite Liberals). If the price of President Bush's strength and success in office is hysterical Democratic negative campaign ads, and even another close Presidential Election, it is a price well worth paying.
